Who are the major female characters from Resident Evil?

The central figure in the Resident Evil series is Alice [Mila Jovovich]. Formerly a security officer with the Umbrella Corporation, she now not only fights against it, but against what they've turned her into. In the first film, she became self-aware of herself and her role in the epidemic. At the end, she managed to escape the hive, but was captured. In the sequel, Alice has been genetically modified...or more correctly, infected with the virus that had killed everyone in the Hive. However, with regular doses of the antidote serum, she is not only able to live with the virus, but has enhanced physical and mental abilities because of it.

In the first film, Alice was supported by Rain Ocampo [Michelle Rodriguez], a no-nonsense recon officer for the Umbrella Corp. She was eventually bitten by a mutant creature and turned into a zombie. Alice then honored Rain's pre-zombie request to kill her. Supporting female characters included Ms. Black [decapitated by the elevator], Dr. Lisa Addison [turned into zombie], an Umbrella Corp. media [decapitated by security laser grid] and the holographic Red Queen image of the Hive computer [modeled after the creator's daughter, who shows up in the sequel].

In RE: Apocalypse, Alice returns, jacked up by the virus running through her veins. Joining her in kicking zombie ass is recently suspended STARS member Jill Valentine [Sienna Guillory]. The two are offered a way out of the recently sealed off Raccoon City, but only if they find and rescue Angie Ashford [Sophie Vavasseur], the young daughter of the virus creator who was trapped in the city via a car accident. Joining them is reporter Terri Morales [Sandrine Holt], who unfortunately meets her end in a swarm of school children-turned zombies.

The female characters of the Resident Evil series are strong, intelligent, independent women who don't play the usual damsel-in-distress role offered to women in zombie films. In fact, it's the women, led by Alice, who do the most damage to the undead hordes of Raccoon City.
